Strong Laser

The laser has a nice strong beam and attached easily with the adapter. My reason for removing one star is the attachment location. The upper left corner essentially means my camera will always be in the way of the beam no matter which direction I'm aimed, and if I align before attaching my camera locating my dso and tightening everything down always throws the alignment off. I wish the last shine through the bottom left or right corner...not a lot of astrophotography happens aimed at the ground so these locations seem like a far better placement. Maybe MSM could consider the easy fix of flipping it over and attaching the dove plate to the opposite side (current top) so the hole is positioned bottom, and swapping the N and S printed on switch? Send me an email update if you do! Or let me know if I do this myself would be an issue lol

MSM Laser Pointer

I recently took possession of a used MSM Rotator kit. It included the laser pointer and adapter to fasten it onto the rotator, and all worked fine. My only problem was that the laser used up batteries very quickly! So I ordered the newer model laser pointer with rechargeable battery from MSM and I have had it for a week or so. It works great! Fits in the same adapter, and the battery holds a charge well. I was disappointed, however, that it did not come with the red cap/adapter that comes with the laser in a Nomad kit, as I am expecting that one day I will likely upgrade to the Nomad with its sturdier locking system so that I can safely use a heavier lens. Now I will have to get n adapter/cap separately or order a kit with another laser, which I don’t need. Otherwise I am very happy with the new laser and the fact that I can recharge the battery for just pennies.

Works Great and No More Polar Scope Alignment

Really love the fact that I can just point for my Polar Alignment with the Move Shoot Move. This was a replacement for my original MSM laser. Like the battery charger and removable battery over the original laser I had.

MSM Laser Pointer

Hi MSM,
it is just a few weeks ago when I got the new Laser for my MSM. Due to bad weather I had only one chance to test the new equipment, but it seems that Laser works well. Unfortunately the pictures I took from Nightsky are not useable as earth rotation is not compensated well. Exposure time I used was about 2 minutes. So, I'm not sure if it is a problem of how use the laser pointer in a right way or my MSM has a problem. My MSM I bought used last May.
So, do you have any idea how to solve the problem?
Bes regards,
Manfred

Excellent customer service

I placed my order and paid the extra for expedited shipping. As I tracked the shipment it appeared to have stalled. I contacted MSM and they replied within a couple of hours apologizing for the mixup and without any prompting from me they refunded the extra I had paid for shipping. After waiting a few more days and seeing no further movement MSM readily agreed to send another shipment that arrived promptly. I haven't had a chance to use the gear but I wanted to offer this review to give MSM kudos for their customer service.
