I’ve been using a more traditional tracker from iOptron for quite a while and also use the ZWO AM5 equatorial mount for large telescopes. The MSM nomad is a perfect addition that is *much* faster and simple to set up. It is a perfect match for all my camera-based astrophotography including my R1 and R5 bodies.

Both plates are made of good materials, are well built, solid, very versatile and easy to use. I have only found two minor aspects to improve. The first is that the azimuth degree markings are not numbered and the second is that in some frames, the position in which the clamping levers are firmly fixed can limit the pan and tilt of the equipment. In conclusion, I can only say that it has been a great purchase.
This phone mount is great for using your cell phone to do your polar alignment. The only drawback is if you're using a Samsung Fold (any version) in a case. When folded it's slightly too thick for the mount to grip the phone properly without interfering with the side buttons.

The best and first equipment we use to observe the night sky are our eyes. These low power very wide binoculars let me do that. But better. Perfectly frames single constellations such as Corona Borealis and Orion, etc. Great for visual observation. Thank you.
I'd say without Richard Tatti YouTube channel, a tracker would still be too daunting for us in the southern hemisphere. Good on him for explaining the quick alignment better than any manufacturers manual.
I was trying all manner of ways to make a phone holder for use with my nomad so I could polar align in daylight.
And then I come across this one. Although I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, I have set it up, and it seems to be just the ticket. Like all things MSM it is very well made, and I have no doubt it will come in very handy.
As an astro newbie with old man eyes I was having a lot of trouble getting on to octans with the Star adventurer polar scope which I think is un magnified. With the MSM laser and a spotting scope I can get onto the pole at dusk in bortle 5 skies in only a few minutes - great time and frustration saver!
Exceeded all expectations. Works really well. Now my phone can be quickly and accurately attached to all of my optical equipment. Thanks for a great product that is so sturdy and well made.

My wife bought me the MSM for Christmas so I added the pointer for polar alignment. The product is solid and very well built but lacks on an explanation on how all of this works together.
I'm very excited about continuing to use this device as it certainly will continue to help me create even more amazing images.

Small and easy to pack away to take it to go, or great to set up at home. Easy to use and consistent results gives this a lot of value for its price.
I am primarily a deep sky astrophotographer and was a user of the original MSM tracker. While that original tracker struggled with the size and weight of my rig (with a 200mm lens), the NOMAD easily handles my portable setup. This tracker is fantastic and the improvements over the original have made it my lightweight tracker of choice. The Move Shoot Move Star Tracker is compact, light, and very easy to set up device and perfect for a starter for me going into the field of astrophotography.
Some guys on YouTube convinced me this is the device to go for. Will try this out hopefully this year in Utah, Arizona and around Yellowstone to photograph the milky way.
