Für Einsteiger ist dieser Nomad-Startracker wirklich eine sehr gute Wahl. Er ist handlich und leicht. Mit dem Zubehör im Shop lässt sich auf einfache Weise eine tolle Nachführung des Sternenhimmels erreichen. Leider ist die Einführung von Lasern in die Schweiz verboten, was ich sehr bedaure und somit keine Anpeilung des Polarstern mit Laser damit möglich. Das anstelle des Lasers erworbene Zielfernrohr konnte ich leider wegen schlechtem Wetter noch nicht testen. Der nächste Schritt für eine Optimierung ist sicherlich der Kauf einer Polarwiege und oder einer V oder Z Plattform.

The msm nomad are a little but powerful tracker. The tracking accuracy are also great!

I am very happy with the Nomad, it feels solid, is very compact, and easy to setup and use. Being in the southern hemisphere I use the phone bracket and a planetarium app to polar align in under a minute. I recently took 5 x 60 sec images at 14mm on a full frame camera and found the stars were in the same place across all 5 images when reviewing them in camera fully zoomed in. Before that I managed a 90 sec image at 105mm full frame camera without star trailing. I look forward to taking this compact setup on future trips. I also got the V bracket which gets the job done nicely.

I think this mount is very tiny and handy for people who have a hobby on astrophotography and other time-lapse shooting. The device is accurate to its maximum capacity. The material is sturdy. The design looks great and neat.

Honestly, I wasn't sure how much I would use a star tracker, but the Nomad now stays in my camera bag at all times. My only regret is not ordering the Polar Alignment Scope. The laser pointer works well with a wide-angle lens for exposures of one minute or less. However, if you're planning to do very long exposures, I would recommend getting both the laser pointer and the polar scope. I’ll be ordering the polar scope soon.

Clearly the aerospace industry is concerned about laser pointers at night due to incidents with aircraft in the uk it’s illegal to point them up .

Perfect for night sky landscapes. Light, easy to use, excellent performance and well priced. Unbeatable.

I used the MSM a few times, and it does what it promeses.
One small item that could be improved is the switch. It is so small that it is not easy to operate. Also the N and S are difficult to read in the dark (with red light)
I made a picture of the switch because i could not see if i choose N or S. Bigger white letters would be a improvement.

I would recomend you have a nice heavier tripod to start with, If not, some way to deflect wind on a lighter tripod. Using the Laser scope and the Wedge option make it a simple adjustment to do fine alignment with Polaris. Also do the alignment with the camera attached as adding the camera after can throw off the alignment. Gross adjustments are done with tripod. Then lock everything down.
I also have the easy focus lens set and found it easier to setup focus on something like Jupiter as it is bright enough to be easily found.
I used an external shutter control where I could set a delay to the fist shot. and then set the shutter time and then an interval between shots and shot count. dont be tempted to fiddle with this bettween or during shots as this can induce vibrations.
Once i had nail the focus and remembered my good practice of not fiddling while shooting it worked like a dream.
The attached picture is my first 45 second exposure with no trails. (without the MSM i could not go above 6 seonds with out trails)
