How To Use This Kit?
1. Attach 360° Panoramic Panning Base on the tripod
2. Attach wedge to panning base
3. Slide the Phone Mount to the rail of wedge
4. Open the App Photopills or other similar app and adjust the panning base and wedge to do polar alignment
5. Take out the phone and phone mount after the alignment, attach NOMAD to the wedge
6. Screw the Double-Panning Ball Head to NOMAD, attach the camera on the top then you are ready to take pictures of stars.

The southern hemisphere kit arrived a few weeks ago. All the components were of a high quality and the you tube videos I found helped put the whole kit together for the first time.
I tried the tracker using the calibrating mount and it seemed to work well. I ran a series of shots at 60” and ISO3200 and 2 mins at ISO1600 and there seemed to be no trailing at 60” and very little at 2mins. This test was conducted with the Fuji GFX50SII and Gf20-35 mm lens at f4.
The one slightly negative thing I have noticed is the on off switch is combined with the hemisphere selector and is quite sensitive so the tracker can mistaking be left on. If I were you on the next iteration I would change the design to separate the hemisphere and power switches. I’m due to take further tests over the coming month so will confirm tracker stability during those tests.
Have only used this once and very happy with the results and minimal set up time and alignment using the mobile bracket and Sky Safari 6 as per Richard Tatti's YouTube video on using this kit
I recently received the MSM "Southern Hemisphere Kit" - yay! The outer package contained a series of very neatly packaged cardboard boxes for each item. Unpacking and assembling them was really easy :-)
I got to try the Nomad out this last weekend - coinciding with the new moon. I was initially a bit concerned that my Android app for polar alignment was a bit erratic. For some reason the azimuth reading jumped around quite a bit, while the altitude reading was really stable. In the end it worked perfectly - my one minute exposures, with a 20mm lens, showed no signs of any star trails.
I am, however, planning to order the Polar Scope A for better Polar Alignment when using lenses with longer focal lengths. This is not a criticism of the MSM Kit, it's just a limitation of the accuracy of the compass feature in my phone (Samsung S24+).
Coming from a deep sky astrophotography setup to the Nomad was so refreshingly simple. Just point it, turn it on, and shoot. Stoked to take it traveling this summer.
This is my first astro gear and I cannot believe how easy it is to set up! Will definitely try out when I get to go to countrysides with beautiful skies!

I purchased this product after watching Richard's Review. I have used the kit twice and it functions as expected. I am very pleased with the results that I am achieving. Polar aligning is easily archived as demonstrated by Richard.
I got the revised Phone holder as inspired by Richard Tatti & I find it much easier to use & achieve polar alignment. The device is very well made & quite solid. Well done MSM on listening to feedback and making the improvements.
